Here is an update from Neil Rees (Studge) on recent Concordance work.
ConcordanceBuilder
The ConcordanceBuilder program now has a very clean process for building concordances for Paratext projects, with lots of useful editing checking features.
Completed projects
Last year we helped the Interconfessional Bible Society of Albania produce a back of the Bible (BoB) concordance to their New Testament. This was produced and is now printed. The Portuguese Bible Society has just finished typesetting their BoB concordance to the Portuguese Almeida Bible.
Publishing Assistant
Improvements were made to Publishing Assistant which mean we can now use it for typesetting concordances.
Jobs near completion
- We are currently finalizing the typesetting of the Latvian stand-alone medium sized concordance.
- We completed making the concordance to the American version of the GNB called the GNT, currently [being typeset for] the Australian Bible Society.
New projects
- The Rwandan Bible Society is interested in a concordance to the Protestant Bible.
- The Romanian Bible Society is interested in a concordance to the Orthodox Bible.
- The Croatian Bible Society is interested in a concordance to their Catholic Bible.
- BFBS Production Services are requesting a concordance to the anglicised New Revised Standard Version (NRSV). We should start [work on] this soon.
New developments
We are currently adding the Spanish Dios Hablo Hoy (DHH) Catholic Bible concordance to ConcordanceBuilder as a model to gloss from. This will enable us to do concordances which use deuterocanonical books.
Other possible jobs are Scots Gaelic, and some jobs for Thailand.
Other concordance projects (such as Czech) are awaiting Bibles to be added to Paratext.
